What benefit is it to me to subscribe to you?
When you see the RSS logo it means you can subscribe to the site you are reading for immediate updates.
At the bottom of every post I invite you to subscribe to my Blog. This morning I got a phone call from a Western New York reader that made me smile. What is all this subscription stuff all about? They really did not understand RSS feeds and how it could benefit them. I explained the basics, and now have another member subscribed to my site.
What is RSS?
Do you enjoy reading my Western New York Real Estate posts? Don’t worry this isn’t a test. I won’t ever know the answer to that question unless you tell me. I am sure that if you are reading my posts that you may be reading some others Western New York sites out there too.

How can you keep on top of all that is out there by visiting each site each day?

How are you going to get any work done if all your time is checking out the sites that interest you?
There is a better way.
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. Think of it as a subscription to your favorite Western New York web site where you get the information when it’s updated instead of you having to keep checking back. Watch this great video and find out how to manage the information that you want to see.
What do I use as a Reader? I am hooked on the Google Reader but have recently discovered having my feeds right in my Outlook inbox. Handy because when I want to forward an article it is easy to do so. But try out several, every reader has a slightly different way of operating and what works for me might not for you. Hope that this clears up confusion for you.
