Things Sellers can do make a buyers day!
You have agreed on a sales price, closing date and you are moving out of your Western New York home. As you pack up remember that there are some very important things you should leave behind for the buyers of your home. You will be expected to leave the home broom clean. In addition to the things you should leave behind, there are several things that you if you chose to leave behind, would make the start for the new buyers a very positive one. And just think how great you will feel if the owners of the home you purchase and move into did the same thing.
Things you should leave behind:
- Owner’s manuals and warranties for any appliances
- If there is a warranty on the roof
- Garage door opener(s)
- Even though they will most likely change the locks, extra sets of house keys
- Code to the security alarm and phone number of the monitoring service if not discontinued
- Provide numbers to the local utility companies
- If it’s a condo, leave information on how to contact the condo board
Things to leave behind to be nice:
- A list of local service providers the best dry cleaner, yard service, plumber, etc
- Instructions for the heating and air conditioning system
- A bunch of menus from great restaurants that deliver near the home
- If you have children that go to the school, contact information for PTA/PTO, school contact information
