It is hot outside and you are thinking about purchasing a home and it is only natural that you might think about purchasing a Buffalo home with a pool. If you enjoy swimming, then you might like to have a swimming pool. But remember there is additional safety and maintence concerns for a home with a pool. The National Association of Realtors says above-ground pools add no value to the home because they are portable. Above-ground is an inexpensive option for a pool.

First the good news.. The average sales price is up in the historic district of Allentown in Downtown Buffalo. And you know that I am going to follow up with some bad, the number of sales is down, the average days on the market is up and highest sold for the year is down from last year’s highest sold.

Ready for some additional good news? This is a cycle we have seen in the Allentown area (see chart below). And if the cycle continues, we will see an increase in sales in 2009!

The fourth annual Buffalo Homecoming Citybration is part party and all business. It’s about potential, opportunity, pride, and making a difference in the City we love.

The City of Buffalo and Niagara County Sheriff are participating in the website Crime Reports. The only crime that they are not reporting to the site is drug related crimes. So often I have buyers who want to know about the crimes in the area. Unfortunately I cannot tell you directly, but with this site, it will give you a great resource!

Sorry, at this time only the City of Buffalo is participating in Crime Reports. Perhaps the rest of the Western New York community police departments will take part in the future.

Buffalo Place Rocks the Harbor

There are many abandonded buildings in the Buffalo Niagara region of Western New York. In Buffalo alone there is an estimated 5,000-10,000 abandoned homes. These abandoned homes are a problem, especially when they are noeglected. Stories like Dirty Deeds that was published in January in BusinessWeek focus on a lot of the negatives. There is a strong movement here in WNY to fix the situation with the city of Buffalo’s Mayor’s AntiFlipping Task Force and grass roots organizations leading the way.
