Monroe County is located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the Finger Lakes Region. The population of the county is over 735,000. Monroe County has so much to offer! It is economically strong, on the cutting edge of technology and research, culturally and historically rich, and abundant with natural beauty. Monroe County has over many unique, family-oriented communities, each with a distinct character. The Monroe County Parks are exceptional, offering beaches, trails, boardwalks, fishing piers, boat launches, access to the Irondequoit Bay and Lake Ontario, horseback riding, golf, and much more.

Rochester NY is a city that is gaining the national spotlight because of its ties to the past. Many of its historical landmarks have been transformed and restored. Rochester ‘s estimated population is almost 220,000 people. It’s a big city – but not too big. Employment opportunities abound here with high-tech corporations including Eastman Kodak and Xerox. Educational institutions are excellent in Rochester and include the University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology, Saint John Fisher College, and many more. Rochester is a rich cultural city with many places to visit and events to enjoy. Rochester boasts a philharmonic orchestra, excellent museums, a planetarium, an entertainment center, a sports stadium, a new arena.

Rochester is an excellent place to live for outdoor activities in all four seasons including golf, boating, fishing, skiing, hiking, or bicycling. There are so many wonderful parks. Durand-Eastman Park is located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the northernmost section of Rochester near the Irondequoit boarder and offers cross-country skiing, scenic vistas, lakes, and a golf course. Genesee Valley Park is another unique park that features the intersection of 3 bodies of water, Red Creek, the Genesee River and the New York State Barge Canal. Highland Park hosts the Lilac Festival in May every year. Ontario Beach Park not only has a great beach and fishing pier, but also offers carousel rides and seasonal concerts. Seneca Park has a great zoo with elephants, tigers and many more animals in a beautiful setting.
