Some talented photographer among the hordes of onlookers watching demolition of Memorial Auditorium over the past few months will be awarded prized Aud souvenirs as a result of a new contest announced today by the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp.
The agency that oversees razing of the venerable sports and entertainment landmark will award two of Aud “orange seats” and other prizes to the person submitting the best demolition photograph as judged by a panel of professionals.

The grand prize winner and runner-up will be officially awarded prizes at a mid-June ceremony marking completion of the Aud demolition effort.

The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. will begin accepting photo submissions on Thursday, with the entry deadline set for 5 p.m. on May 28. All entries should be submitted to the harbor corporation’s offices via postal mail only (ECHDC, 95 Perry Street, Suite 500, Buffalo, NY 14203-3030, ATTN: “Photo Contest”).
