I saw this over on Buffalo Rising and thought this is interesting. What an idea — give the house away to someone who will rehab it and live in it. Well it is happening in Buffalo NY. “So what does the house need? There is some fire damage, and it’s boarded up. So it will need new mechanicals and plumbing… and windows. If done right, it could be an amazing home for someone…”
The story is significant, but the 90+ comments are worth going and checking out. The debate at hand is how to bring back the city of Buffalo and do it successfully.  There are pros and cons to every opportunity. There will always be those that say it can’t be done or that it shouldn’t be done.
It is a good thing that there are people that still care and want to bring back cities like Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Those that are trying should be applauded, those that sit and complain how bad things are, are in fact holding the region back.Â
