The “Great Appliance Swap Out” will take place between February 12th and February 21st!
New York State residents who buy a qualified energy efficient appliance during these dates will be eligible for a rebate from NYSERDA, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. If you’re recycling an old appliance, you’ll be eligible for an even larger rebate.

Here’s how it works: After you purchase a qualified appliance between the 12th and 21st, you’ll need to fill out a rebate application and submit it, with the required documentation, to NYSERDA by March 15, 2010. Then a check will be mailed back to you.
The following rebates are available:
- Refrigerators: $75 ($105 with documented recycling)
- Clothes washers: $75 ($100 with documented recycling)
- Freezers: $50 ($75 with documented recycling)
- Dishwashers: Rebates are only available for dishwashers when purchased as part of a three appliance package of CEE-rated appliances. This bundled purchase will qualify for a $500 rebate ($550 with documented recycling).
A total of $16.8 million will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The appliances can be purchased at any location.
